The Castle is situated at the eastern end of the village of St Helens between the Green and St Helens Duver and the beach, which is only five minutes walk away. The property was originally built in 1842 and developed through the rest of that century into a large estate. It is a listed property of architectural and historical interest and was for many years the residence of the Dentist to Queen Victoria and King George the Fifth. The Castle has peaceful secluded grounds, which are available for the use of tenants and has magnificent views over Bembridge Harbour.

The Castle and the village of St Helens provide an excellent location for family holidays and short breaks. The village is famous for its Village Green, which is the second largest in the Country, which accommodates both a cricket pitch and football pitch as well as a children's playground. The Green is also host to a Village Fayre in June, as well as the traditional Village Carnival and Sports in late August, which has been running for over 100 years, at which time a Fairground sites itself on the Green. The village has a large number of facilities including local shops, a post office, a family friendly pub and three excellent restaurants, together with the nearby Priory Bay Hotel, all of which are within easy walking distance. The towns of Ryde and Newport are nearby and The Castle is within easy reach of all the Isle of Wight ferries

Both were renovated to be offered as holiday accommodation in 2007 and have been awarded Four Stars by the English Tourist Board Quality Rating Scheme. They provide comfortable and characterful accommodation with extensive facilities including central heating, colour televisions, cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, CD and DVD players, washing and drying machines. There are no additional charges. The costs of gas and electricity used during your stay are all included in the rental charge as are all Blankets, Duvets and Pillows, Bed Linen and Bathroom Towels. A Cot is also available on request for each property, together with other baby equipment, at no extra charge.

Both properties are non-smoking. It is regretted that pets cannot be accommodated. Ample parking space is available within the grounds for both properties.
Generally visitors may take up residence from 3 pm on the first day of the tenancy and are requested to vacate the property by 10.00am on the day of departure. All weekly lets during the main season are from Friday to Friday.
Out of the main season we can be more flexible about arrival and departure times and days.
Short breaks can also be arranged outside the main season subject to availability
